Life Skills & Parenting Curriculum
Pregnancy and parenthood are filled with uncertainty. Our life skills and parenting curriculum is built to walk with you through pregnancy, baby care, and beyond. Partners are welcome to participate too, and many men find the classes helpful as they prepare to support their girlfriend and step into fatherhood.
Called the “Life Skills Parenting Program,” our online lessons are practical, engaging, and easy to understand. These one-on-one BrightCourse classes are on topics such as:
- Prenatal health
- Newborn care
- Safe sleep
- Healthy relationships
- Budgeting and financial basics
- Communication skills
Classes can help prevent common stressors many new parents face, such as feeling isolated, unsure about infant care, or inundated by financial decisions. Having space to ask questions and learn new skills can reduce anxiety and increase confidence.
This program is offered at no cost when you make an appointment.
Material Assistance
We understand that financial strain can add significant pressure during pregnancy. Through our material assistance program, you can receive maternity clothing throughout pregnancy and continue receiving support after your baby is born.
To qualify, you must enroll in the Life Skills Parenting Program while pregnant and remain an active participant to be eligible for material assistance. As you move through the program, you may receive infant clothing up to 24 months, along with diapers, wipes, bottles, and other essentials. As you complete lessons, you can also earn baby items such as car seats, portable bassinets, and more.
