Symptoms of Pregnancy

Having unprotected sex or concern over the effectiveness of your birth control can be reasons to suspect you may be pregnant. The following are just a few of the early pregnancy symptoms.

  • Missed period(s)
  • Fatigue
  • Tender breasts
  • Nausea
  • And other symptoms

If you have reason to believe you may be pregnant, now’s the time to get free pregnancy testing at Crossroads. Make an appointment, and let’s end the fear of the unknown together.

How does a pregnancy test work?

To determine if you are pregnant, we test urine samples for the hormone hCG (the hormone associated with pregnancy). If it detects the hCG hormone, the test registers positive. If the test is negative, you are either not pregnant, or it is too early to tell.

Why can’t I take my test at home?

You take the test, find out your pregnant, and then what? Although home pregnancy tests are mostly accurate, they can’t help you determine your next step. At Crossroads, we’re here to provide the resources you need.

I’m pregnant. Now what?

Once you find out you are pregnant, you’ll want to schedule an ultrasound as soon as possible. The Crossroad’s nurse will check for a detectable fetal heartbeat and accurately determine how far along you are in your pregnancy. Knowing the date of conception will help you know what options are available to you.
